Mary-Joy Lu

Executive Producer

Mary-Joy's intuitive understanding of film-making, her practicalexperience with production, and her remarkable ability to immediatelybefriend complete strangers make her an exceptional executive producer.

Prior to forming TANQ, Mary-Joy worked as the Head of Production at Guava Studios, a New York based visual effects company specializing in top end commercials.  Under her leadership Guava expanded its client base to include work for Mercedes, BMW, Crest, and Radio City Music Hall.

Mary-Joy began her career as a producer back in Australia with her own production company, 'Temenos'.  At Temenos she produced commercials for an international roster of clients, including Singapore Power, Who Magazine, and SBS Television.
Her credits as Visual Effects Producer include the 1999 IMAX feature 'Sydney - Story of a City', directed by Bruce Beresford, a national network rebrand for Channel 10 Australia, commercial work for JWT, McCann Ericson, and EURO RSCG.

In search of new challenges, Mary-Joy and husband Alex Catchpoole relocated to New York in 2002.  The couple formed TANQ in 2007, and live in Brooklyn NY with their two boys, Charlie and James.
